Darr tes Sa'ilth'ini Darr is a big strapping blond Elf with more muscles than most. He has to be. He is head of the landscaping crew in Sarna. He and about 15 of his clansmen tend to all the gardens and ornamental trees in Sarna. Sometimes they help the farmers in the fields as well, especially at harvest time. There are no earth moving machines, so large rocks are moved with block and tackle. Raking is done manually. Compost and mulch are moved and spread one wheelbarrow at a time. It's backbreaking work, but for Elves who love being outside playing in the mud year round, it's a pleasure. They love to see things grow, and there are several gifted plantmancers among them. When Torlinque and I re-established contact in the Send, Tolirion was still living in his parents' village and had been since right after the Gating. When Torlinque knew that the contact with me would not fade, and I asked where Tolirion was, he sent word to him asking him to please come back to Sarna. Tolirion hired himself onto Darr's crew when he arrived, just for something to do. Tolirion is an extremely gifted plantmancer. Darr and the boys put Tolirion through some of the worst tasks they had as a way to test him. Poor Tolirion would come in absolutely exhausted, but smiling and happy. Eventually, the crew realized he was indeed one of their own despite his rather feminine appearance and his status as Prince within Clan Kholi'ani. I've known Darr since I was an Elfling. K'antor and I knew him even before we moved to the main house. I knew he wouldn't let anything truly horrid happen to Tolirion. When I was a maid, Darr was good friends with my mother, and he thought I was the cutest kid he'd ever seen. He used to play rough with me in the way that uncles sometimes play with their nieces and nephews, tickling me and throwing me up in the air and catching me. It was great fun that always left me squealing, laughing and breathless. I had the biggest crush on him. He always gently discouraged that though knowing that I was way too young for him and that it was just a girlish thing I'd outgrow. Once I got serious about my training and grew up a little, I did outgrow it. He's still a good friend of mine though, and I know he'd do anything I asked him to.
