Nahrie'l tes Kesperion Nahrie'l is Torlinque's younger half brother, the second son of Captain Kharie'l. Like Torlinque, Nahrie'l has been Adrastai his whole life. Also like Torlinque, Nahrie'l's mother was a Kholi'ani Maiden. Unlike Torlinque however, Nahrie'l was raised to adulthood by both his parents in Kharie'l's big house. (Soon after that, she and Kharie'l ended their relationship and she moved out into another house in the village.) Torlinque was already an adolescent when Kharie'l took Nahrie'l's mother as a Lovemate. He wasn't too happy when she moved into Kharie'l's house and then had baby Nahrie'l. He has never though of her as "my stepmother" but instead called her "my father's Lovemate". He loves his brother now though. Nahrie'l has the blond hair of the Kholi'ani, but his father's green eyes. He is shorter than Torlinque by almost a head. Growing up, he had some trouble learning stances and blade technique. Wanting to see his brother succeed, Torlinque tutored him privately in addition to what Kharie'l was teaching him. If he hadn't been born into it, I don't know whether or not Nahrie'l would have chosen to become Adrastai. Part of me thinks he only asked to take the tests to please his father and brother. He's much more introverted and quiet than most Adrastai are, and preferred to rise up through the ranks by skill testing rather than the quicker way of honor duels. Still, he has earned all four of the possible jeweled studs. His skills are excellent, and became so just from sheer force of will and many hours of extra practice. He did it in spite of himself, you might say. I think that over time, he learned to want to succeed for his own sake rather than just to please his family. He's been Adrastai too long now to do anything else. He's seen too much war to live the carefree civilian life. Once I build those pathways in an Adrastai, they tend to stick for life. Nahrie'l is very good at conflict resolution and will only resort to blades when all else fails. He is the one Kharie'l sends on those rare occasions when neighbors quarrel. He often tends delegations from neighboring villages also. His Lovemate of many years was a Kesperi'oni She-Elf named Joli (zho-LEE). She was in the first group who went through the Gate. She ended up on Earth, and I found her in this incarnation, but she was a bit damaged. At the time, I was still too young in this incarnation to know how to help her. We were friends for many years, until it was revealed to me that she lying to me about many things and was believing in her own lies (which were easily proven as lies), and I had to end that friendship. She no longer lives in the same location I do anymore. For awhile, Nahrie'l had contact with her in the Send just as Torlinque and I do, but I do not know if that is still true for them now. As far as I know, she has chosen to live a human life.
