Sex in Tularin Culture Elves like sex. Elves like sex a lot. Therefore, most of us are very good at it. We've had centuries of practice after all. Elves need noticeably more sex, noticeably more often than humans. It doesn't make us sluts. It's just part of what makes us Elves. Sex is a celebration of life (and all life is sacred to us) and the orgasm temporarily returns us to the stars whence we came. And no one in Tularin society is prudish or uncomfortable about it. We are a very sensual people as a result, and you can see our love of sex in everything we do. You can see it in our art, our music, our speech, our style of dance, our dress, our style of hair and make up, our presentation of food, our mixing of and utilization of scented oils, even our architecture. Even when incarnating here in relatively human bodies, even when we forget for awhile that we are even Elves, we don't forget how to make love, and it comes naturally to us. Most of us serving in incarnations here at this time never went through that fumbling teenage period of not knowing what we were doing as far as sexual technique goes. We just jumped right back in like it was yesterday. For an Elf, 14 – 17 Earth years is yesterday. Structure of relationships Most of us are polyamorous. Most of us are bisexual. There are, of course, exceptions to those 2 things however. Elenari have two different "levels" relationships may take. Lovemates are two or more Elves who are in love and are usually having sex with each other regularly, but who have not made a long term commitment. They may or may not choose to live together in the same home. Lovemate relationships can and do continue for centuries sometimes. Lifemates are two or more Elves who have bound their souls together either during LoveMaking privately or during a special binding ceremony facilitated by a priestess at the Temple. This is a life long commitment that often occurs between those who have been Lifemates to each other in many previous lifetimes and have recognized each other once again. This commitment can and often does span more than one lifetime and should be considered very carefully before being entered into. Elves bond in groups, so it's not uncommon to find triads of 1 male and 2 females or 1 female and 2 males, or even quads. Couples do occur, but they are the exception usually. Groups may consist of a pair of Lifemates who are primary partners to each other and their Lovemates, a group of Lovemates, a group of Lifemates where more than two are involved and all are bound to each other, or any conceivable combination thereof. Triads do seem to be the most common grouping however. Some triads operate as "V's" where the 2 of the same gender share the one of the opposite gender between them but only have a deep friendship between each other. Others operate as true triads where all 3 members are equally in love. In these triads, one of two males and a female for example, it would not be uncommon to find all 3 of them engaged in LoveMaking at once with one of them sandwiched between the other 2. It is also not uncommon to find one of the males making Love alone with the female or the two males making Love alone together. Bisexuality and polyamory are like that. It is permissible for any Elf to take a Lovemate regardless of that Elf's current other relationships as long as all of that Elf's other partners have no problem with it and know about it in advance of the relationship's sexual consummation. The Lovemate may or may not become an addition to that Elf's primary relationship group. Sometimes, it really is just a fling. Since there aren't that many of us and most of our villages have populations of about 50 people or less, some of our relationships would be considered incestuous by human standards. It's quite common to find first or second cousins bound to each other, especially in the rarer cases of arranged binding to preserve clan bloodlines. Bonds between siblings are frowned upon usually though. Elves have a much lower risk of genetic problems than humans, but no one wants to take any risk where our treasured children are concerned, if it can be avoided. Again, there are exceptions where sexual relationships do occur between siblings, but they are usually same sex relationships where there is no chance of children being produced. I once knew a pair of identical twin Adrastai who were bound to each other for example. Erogenous Zones Elves have all the erogenous zones humans do and a few they don't. The most obvious one is our pointed ears. The whole ear is rather sensitive to touch, but the tips are especially so. For many Elves, the palms of the hands and soles of the feet are erogenous zones. We love to have our hands and feet massaged as part of the build to LoveMaking. The chakras there are used in our daily small magicks quite a bit and can become "tired" or "clogged up" by the end of the day. Getting the energy flowing again properly is a loving gift one can give one's lover. The sides of the throat and collar bone area is sensitive in many Elves. Kisses, small nips of teeth and gentle light stroking with the fingers work well there. Multiple orgasms We don't know whether it's because we've had centuries of practice at it, or if it's because we're just built that way, but both males and females are capable of multiple orgasms. We usually aren't satisfied with a sexual encounter unless we orgasm at least twice, minimum. In purely Elven bodies, most males average 3 to 6 orgasms per encounter, with some experiencing up to ten depending on level of physical conditioning, endurance and general level of randiness. An Elf's erection does not fade immediately upon orgasm, but lasts until he has had all he wants and gets tired. Adrastai are rather popular as a result, as you can imagine, for they outlast your average village Elf because their training teaches them an incredible level of control over all the muscles and functions of their bodies. In the human-ish bodies of reincarnates, most males still want more than one orgasm per encounter, but the erection does fade slightly in between orgasms and must be coaxed back to life. With practice, he can achieve a level of skill and control close to that of a purely Elven body, but the number of orgasms per encounter usually does not exceed 3. Elven female reincarnates do not have this problem and are usually just as capable of multiple orgasms as ever they were, lucky girls. This can create problems for them here though if they find themselves in a relationship with a human male who can orgasm only once. It often leaves them very unfulfilled for he is done just as she's beginning. The purr of the male All Elenari males can purr just like cats do. Females do not have this ability. It has been discovered that even though they are reincarnates in somewhat human bodies here, many of our males have retained their ability to purr. Males purr when they experience pleasure. This is most often sexual in nature, but does not have to be. A good back scratching can make a male purr as can sitting next to a warm fireplace with a loved one and a glass of wine on a cold evening. I also have seen very hungry Adrastai purr over their food after an afternoon of running several tens of miles under the direction of their Captain and working up quite an appetite thereby. Elven males always purr involuntarily during sex, and the sound of the purr of a male is both quite alluring and arousing to the female. As with voice timbre, a male's purr is unique to the individual. When a female is in love with a male, it is his purr specifically that she finds arousing, and she will often ignore the purrs of other males if she happens to overhear one by the communal fireplace. Often the sound alone of the purr of her lover is enough to start the honey flowing for her. The male knows this, of course, and often uses it to his advantage by embracing his Beloved from behind and purring in her ear, letting the purr vibrate through his chest and thus throughout her body as an unmistakable sign that he wants her, and soon. That gesture is also often seen occurring at the end of a workday between longtime Lifemates as a way of saying, "My Gods, I'm happy to be home with you again, and I really am still crazy in love with you." A knowing female can discern exactly how aroused her male is by changes in the pitch, volume and rhythm of his purr. Generally, the lower the pitch, and the louder the purr, the more turned on he is. If his purr becomes overlaid by a low growl in his throat generated by his voice, then she knows she's pushed him as close to the edge as he's willing to go without release. Jokes, innuendo, games and catcalls When you get a bunch of Elenari together, especially if they are consuming wine, expect the ensuing conversation to be filled with sexual jokes, double entendres and innuendo coming from both genders equally. We're not trying to be crude. It's just part of our culture, and we naturally fall into it when we're together. We like to have a good time, and aren't prudish in the least. We also like games, and one of our favorite games is to pick someone in our midst and see how long it takes, or what it takes, to make that person blush. It's not that we don't love that person. Most often, the one we choose to single out is one who is especially loved amongst the group. Once we get the blush, we'll usually move on to someone else after we've all had a long loud laugh. No one is immune, and everyone gets picked on eventually. That said, it is also reasonable and expected that catcalls be made to any singleton walking past a group. It usually occurs most often to a lone female walking past a group of males, or a lone male walking past a group of females because it is a way to show off one's boldness in front of one's friends. Same sex catcalls are made also, but don't seem to occur as often, and no, I don't know why. Catcalls are not intended as rudeness, as it would be perceived in human society, but as a compliment and appreciation of one's beauty or attire. The correct response is either none at all and feigned ignorance, or to stop in one's tracks and blow kisses to those making the catcalls if one seeks to encourage them. Therefore, do not go walking past the Adrastai armory and expect to be immune unless you are of very high rank indeed. It is seen as a lack of respect to catcall one's superiors, and the smart Adrastai will not do so for fear of being made to wash dishes in the kitchen or muck out stalls in the stable. I do, however, get the infamous, "How may I be of service to you today, m'Lady?" purred at me by Adrastai in a particularly suggestive tone of voice occasionally, wicked things that they are. Usually when they do it, they're just trying to see what they can get away with, usually on a dare. Sometimes I give them stable duty for it, other times I don't. The serving maids do not have the power to punish them like I do though, and that line still works for them with the younger ones even though it's as ancient as the trees. Nothing will make a young maid swoon faster than an Adrastai in full uniform who purrs that in her ear, let me tell you.
