The Temple Guard

Today is Torlinque's first day back as a Temple Guard. No more patrols around the village. Yay!

Now that he and I have regained contact with each other, he's much happier in general. He told me having to deal with a horse was worse than having to baby sit the Maidens. Kharie'l gave them a rather stern speech reminding them of their manners yesterday before Torlinque was to take up his post at the Temple again. Good.

Still, just to be certain, when Torlinque led them in a line from the house to the Temple today, I was walking at the head of it with him just like I used to do. He was glad I was there.

I pulled enough energy into myself so that most of the Maidens could see me. I heard a few stifled gasps behind me, and Torlinque looked down at me giving me a small smile. Then he whipped out one of his fakhai'n and put his other hand on the back of my neck like he always does when we walk together. Neither one of us said a word.

When we got there, Torlinque took his place with his back to the left column at the top of the stairs, and I watched as the Maidens filed in past him. Then I came back to the Earth plane.
