The Boys Celebrate Spring Festival

When the boys Sent to me this morning, I had forgotten today is their day off. During the recent Spring Festival in the village (kind of like Beltane here, but not) they'd both had to work - Torlinque with extra shifts on guard duty at the fire pits and Tolirion filling lots of requests for flowers. So today, they are having their own celebration.

On days like this Torlinque lets Tolirion dress him up, and today is no exception. When he contacted me in the Send, he came to me wearing white suede leggings, which I hadn't seen him wear before. He was shirtless, which is typical of him. Tolirion had brought lots of white roses. Not only had he made chaplets for both of them, but he had spent a lot of time weaving about a dozen of them into hidden braids in Torlinque's hair so that it still looks like its regular long curtain, only studded with roses. He looks magnificent, if not slightly silly in an Elfy over-the-top way, but that is our Tolirion's style, and that's OK, especially on a celebratory day. Torlinque wants to please him, so he indulges him. He would never wear flowers in his hair if left to himself. Infinite patience my Torlinque has.

Torlinque was talking to me and Tolirion joined in the links as well and I noticed he'd dressed himself up in the same fashion. They match. How...cute. (Tolirion can be such a girl, honestly.) I told them both they looked beautiful, because they do, but then I laughed at them too, silly Elves. All the white just looked downright bridal to me. Neither one of them had worn white when they were bound at the Temple earlier this year.

Torlinque very badly wished for me to go with them and was angsting over it. I was too. I want to go with them, but I have to work, and it wouldn't be fair to anybody if my attention were divided. Tolirion had a giant basket of food and stuff in one hand and Torlinque in the other and was pulling him out the door while Torlinque was still talking to me. I yelled, "Take a cloak!" and Torlinque grabbed 2. I can only imagine what the serving maids would do if they saw him dressed up like that, not to mention his fellow Adrastai. If they have cloaks on, no one will pay any attention to them as they're leaving.

They went out into the woods. I know the exact spot they went to, too. We've made many memories at that spot. I'm really disappointed that I can't go. If they had reminded me last week, I maybe could have tried to take the day off work at least. That way, I could have at least spent part of the time with them this morning. Missing today with them doesn't bother me too badly though. What bothers me is that Torlinque really, really wanted me there with them. It hurts me that he's sad because I can't be there. He'll enjoy this time alone with Tolirion certainly, naughty boys that they are, but still, it makes me angry that I'm not incarnate there right now.
