This morning Torlinque is wearing the black Adrastai uniform pants he always wears, but he's wearing a heavy black velvet shirt, almost a short robe because it hangs to mid- upper thigh and ties at the waist. It has a very low cut shawl collared neckline and slightly belled sleeves. It's embroidered all over with the outlines and veins of leaves in just the exact shade of green as his eyes.

When I saw him in it, it struck me I'd seen it before. I asked him if it was new, and he said, "No, Love, I've had this for a long time" and smiled. I said, "Then the memory is true," I said, fingering the leaves, "I did this. I embroidered these leaves, before...before I died." He said, "Yes. You made this whole thing for me, and surprised me with it once. I don't wear it often because I want to keep it forever, but I wore it for you today. I know how you've been feeling, and I didn't see you much yesterday."
